Accounting Manager

Job Summary:

Reporting to the Director of Finance & Grants, the Accounting Manager leads the organization’s accounting function using Odoo as the core ERP system. The role is responsible for ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant financial processing across Odoo workflows (Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, General Ledger, bank reconciliation, and reporting), maintaining strong internal controls, and supervising the accounting team. The position ensures that end-to-end processes—from vendor onboarding and payments to payroll, taxes, and month-end close—are executed efficiently and in line with Egyptian laws and nonprofit reporting requirements.

Responsibilities

    A. Accounting Operations & Internal Controls

  1. Manage day-to-day accounting operations: Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and General Ledger activities.
  2. Oversee accurate recording of transactions,
  3. Develop and implement financial policies and procedures, and translate them into Odoo controls (approval flows, access rights, segregation of duties, and audit trail readiness).
  4. Ensure proper classification of revenues (including donations) and expenses in line with nonprofit reporting requirements, using Odoo analytic accounting and dimensions where applicable.

B. Financial Reporting & Analysis

  1.  Oversee and review the preparation of financial statements, ensuring accuracy with source data and reconciliations maintained in Odoo.
  2. Perform in-depth balance sheet analysis, ensure all balance sheet accounts are properly reconciled, supported, and documented monthly,
  3. Monitor and analyze variances between actuals and budget, leveraging Odoo analytic accounting and cost center/project tracking where applicable.

C. Cash & Bank Management

  • Review monthly bank reconciliations in Odoo, ensuring completeness, accuracy, and integrity of cash balances across all accounts

G. Audit & Governance

Must Have

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Professional certification (CPA, CMA, or equivalent) preferred
  • Strong proficiency in Odoo 17 Enterprise.
  • Leadership and team management Perfect written English and Arabic
